Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Deputy Ombudsman - Commissioner for Children's Rights and the SOS Children's Villages Uzbekistan

On October 7, 2020, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Deputy Ombudsman - Commissioner for Children's Rights and the SOS Children's Villages Uzbekistan at the office of the authorized person of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman). The purpose of the memorandum is to protect and ensure the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of children, to expand and strengthen cooperation between government agencies and non-governmental organizations in further raising the legal awareness and culture of the population in this area, to promote legal, socio-political cooperation and organise advocacy activities.

Cooperation is carried out in the following areas:

advocacy aimed at raising the legal awareness and culture of the society in the protection and promotion of the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of the population, strengthening the rule of law and further strengthening the reliable protection of the rights and freedoms of children;

engaging qualified specialists to study the issues of raising the legal culture of the population in the protection and promotion of children's rights, freedoms and legitimate interests;

organization of advocacy activities with the participation of citizens and non-governmental non-profit organizations to explain the essence of the tasks set out in the Strategy of Action in the field of protection and promotion of children's rights, freedoms and legitimate interests;

developing proposals and recommendations for further improvement of the legislation in cooperation with non-governmental non-profit organizations on the protection and promotion of the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of children;

organization of joint events in this field (conferences, seminars, trainings and roundtables), as well as coverage of these events in the media.

On October 7, 2020, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Deputy Ombudsman - Commissioner for Children's Rights and the SOS Children's Villages Uzbekistan at the office of the authorized person of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman).
