International Children's Day in Khorezm

Children are our “present of tomorrow”. Therefore, as parents, teachers, educators and ordinary citizens, our task is to provide children with a healthy, safe and happy childhood today. One of the most important factors of a harmoniously developed personality is adherence to a healthy lifestyle, promotion of activities and love for sports among children, spending more time in the fresh air. Numerous studies serve as example of this, indicating that a child should be in the fresh air for 2-3 hours during the day.

In this regard, the SOS Children’s Villages, Khorezm branch have designed and organized the children's playground, by having received a grant from the Public Fund for the support non-governmental non-profit organizations and other civil society institutions under the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The playground is equipped with all necessary outdoor equipment so that children can happily spend time with their peers and friends. The playground is designed for basketball and volleyball and other outdoor games that could arouse children's interest in sports improve their physical health. Participation of children and their parents helps to establish and strengthen child-parent relationships through various sporting tournaments and relay races. The opening ceremony of the playground was held on June 1, 2019 in honor of International Children's Day. The ceremony was opened by the deputy Governor of the region, the chairman of the regional Women’s Committee of Uzbekistan- G. Akhmedova. At the opening ceremony, there was a concert performance of children, and sports events, where 24 children took part in the “Merry Starts” relay. Both teams have received gifts and prizes. Parents and children enjoyed it a lot, and were inspired by a charge of cheerful energy! There was also a festive reception organized for children.

The event was held with the support of our friends and sponsors: Music School No. 1 of Urgench City, Gulzamon Company, Urgench Ice Cream Shop, and Malika Pardalari Company.
